The leaves are used fresh or dried, their mildly aromatic flavor is popular with fish, meat, soups, sauces and salads. It has also been grown for thousands of years in Mexico, Canada, West Germany, Haiti, France, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Yugoslavia. Now it is being easily grown in India as well and is flourishing in high altitude areas.
